What are Bowser Chevrolet Courtesy Transportation Vehicles (CTPs)?
Before a car ever hits our pre-owned section, some Chevrolet vehicles spend their first few months on the road in a different way. As a service loaner, these vehicles are used by customers whose own vehicle is in for repair or these vehicles are used around the dealership for local transportation. They're gently driven, kept on a short leash of scheduled maintenance and pulled from service well before their factory warranty runs out. Once we retire a vehicle from loaner status, it moves to our retail lot. Price competitively, but built and equipped like the current model year...because it is.
Why would I buy a CTP vehicle that already has miles on it and it is still considered new?
It's a smart way to get more value! These vehicles are used mostly for short, local trips so mileage tends to be far lower than a typical used car of the same age.
What's the advantage of buying a courtesy vehicle now?
There are several advantages to buying a courtesy vehicle. First, there is only ever one owner. The entire service history is ours. Every oil change, tire rotation and inspection is logged in-house with no questions as to how the vehicle was serviced. Second, these vehicles are well-optioned by design. We stock our service loaner fleet with the trims and features customers actually want. And finally, loaner vehicles mean lower miles.
Will a courtesy vehicle still come with warranty coverage?
Yes. Often times, the vehicles will come with the remainder of the factory warranty. For Chevrolet vehicles, that's 3 years or 36,000 miles bumper-to-bumper coverage and 5 years or 60,000 miles powertrain limited coverage. Electric and hybrid vehicle battery systems are covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles.
